In Starfall: Elpis of the Abyss, battles are fought in semi-real time. Combat is turn-based, but there is a time limit, so you will have to make decisions quickly to take out your enemies in time. You can control up to eight different characters in total, and you can place them strategically around the battlefield. Each has a different attack, and you can press the all-out attack button to make all characters attack at the same time. Along the way you can recruit other characters to join your team, all the while improving their skills.

Home-cooked meals provided by Monica, an expert chef, four times a day, are essential to maintaining the sanity and morale of your squad. You will also need to decide which resources to prioritize, such as fresh water or amulets, to ensure your team's survival.
